MPs are nearly five times more likely to have been educated at private school than the rest of the population, a report reveals. Research by the Sutton Trust shows that 32 per cent of MPs went to private schools, compared with 7 per cent of the public. These include 59 per cent of Tory and 16 per cent of Labour MPs. Nearly two-thirds of the House of Lords are private-school alumni.
