INSPECTORS are to turn the tables in schools and allow pupils to grade teaching. The Office for Standards in Education is to pilot questionnaires for secondary pupils on school performance. OFSTED said that in a recent consultation, 70 per cent of respondents from secondary schools supported pilot questionnaires. But Nigel de Gruchy, general secretary of the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers, said: “This is going to be abused by mischievous kids.”
