OTHER colleges named in the report - Bell, Clackmannan, Clydebank, Inverness, Langside, Lews Castle, Moray, North Glasgow, Reid Kerr and South Lanarkshire - have put “recovery plans” in place to turn their fortunes round or are preparing rescue packages, with the help of the funding council.
Reid Kerr hopes to clear its deficit by 2003, Bell by 2004, Cydebank by 2005 and North Glasgow by 2007.
John Sizer, chief executive of the funding council, said he welcomed the audit committee’s recognition that the council had acted swiftly to remedy the sector’s many problems.
Mr Sizer undertook to report the outcome of its various reviews to MSPs by December 31 as the committee had requested.
