YOUR article about taking exams at sea (FE Focus, September 15) reminded me of when I was the physics officer at the Cambridge exam board.
I was asked by the Royal Navy to send A-level papers in advance of the release date for one of their candidates. I initially refused on the grounds this would be a ecurity risk. However, I was persuaded otherwise by the argument that as the exam would be taken in a nuclear submarine somewhere under the polar ice cap there was little chance of “leakage”.
