Yottenfews is the environmental education centre at the British Nuclear Fuels location at Sellafield. It’s range of habitats (an orchard, hedgerows and a pond) and wildlife (butterflies, red squirrels, swallows and frogs) make it an attractive contrast to the less comfortable associations of the parent site. The Yottenfews Year is a CD-Rom that allows key stage 2 pupils to make a virtual visit. Through videos, photos and interactive games, it shows changes over the four seasons and throughout life cycles, food chains and the processes of photosynthesis.
