In a week when millions turned out to vote in the local elections, and Scotland welcomed snow in May, 10 colleges came together to form the Research College Group, while shadow health secretary Jonathan Ashworth visited Bradford College.

Selby College celebrated the achievements of staff member Richard Carvey, East Coast College principal Stuart Rimmer looked ahead to the Tes FE awards, and Bournemouth and Poole College encouraged students to take part in a spot of bird watching.
