Graded Outstanding, June 2018, this lesson focuses on students comparing two quotes, linked to nature, from Winter Swans and another poem of their choice. Bundle includes lesson plan, PowerPoint and differentiated resources. Students will need to have studied Winter Swans and at least one other poem linked to nature. The lesson is scaffolded so that students move from re-capping quotes, analysing key quotes, referring to AOs, analysing a model answers, to writing an independent comparison paragraph and then reflecting on their progress. The lesson is aimed at students working between a Grade 4-6 but could easily be adapted for lower or higher ability.

Then, they can simply be reminded where they should be up to on a weekly basis by the class teacher. The projects create a great opportunity for peer assessment at the end of a half term. Projects can be adopted by whole departments and have proven very successful with students.
