Lesson plan: indicates what teacher and student do throughout the lesson Worksheets: all created for various parts of the lesson - independent work, group work and peer assessment PPT: complete PPT to support lesson plan The lesson was delivered after a class had read the opening of Private Peaceful but will work as a stand alone writing lesson using a war stimulus. Suitable for Most Able KS3 students but could be tailored to suit any class. Students thoroughly enjoyed the lesson and were able to make excellent progress in improving their writing. The lesson is centred around students working on a targeted writing skill. The lesson includes an audio stimulus starter, various Most Able strategies, group work, independent work and peer assessement. Worksheets are provided so that the whole lesson can be delivered without the need of exercise books. N.B For starter activity, use trench sounds effects that can be found on YouTube. For extract, I used Private Peaceful but any extract with a war theme could be used.
