I have created this resource to tie in with a greater in-school development on reading. This is a simple activity in which you cut up the book cover from its blurb and the children have to re-match them...this is not too challenging for many children as key words give many of them away, but it leads on to great discussions about what makes a good blurb, what powerful language can be used, why some books don't need a &'great&'; blurb because the author's name will sell copies anyway etc... The PDF should be ready to print in terms of alignment etc whereas the word version is editable.

An easy to use worksheet to use at any point of the year, although I tend to use it on transition days or in September for them to reflect on again at the end of the year. MS word version is editable whereas the PDF is ready to be printed.

I have used this resource to good effect with my Lower Key Stage 2 class. This resource is differentiated - I gave my lower ability children just the addition and subtraction 'mat&' (with the appropriate words at the bottom of the doc) whereas my higher ability tried to identify words for all 4 operations. The PDF is printable and ready to go (and then be guillotined/cut!) and the MSWord is editable, if you want to add or adjust the words or mats.

I created this resource to really help with peer/self assessment, so although the questions are different, when you read them out to the whole class, everyone in the room should have the same answer to Qu1. PDF is ready to print and go and word version is editable if you want to change any of them. The final question is definitely an extension one which the lower ability may find difficult but I encouraged perseverance and they gave it a good go! Used successfully with my Yr3/4 class.
