Pupils work in groups of 5 and each group gets a different miracle of Jesus. They have time to act out their miracle, thereby teaching the rest of the class about that particular miracle.
A lesson which looks at the concept of temptation in relation to the temptation Jesus faced. A choice of 4 activities to aid differentiation. Very good Youtube video to go with it - the PowerPoint has a link to the site.
Story of Hanukkah. Activity is for pupils to make a storyboard, fold A4 paper into 8 sections and do together as a class per PowerPoint slide and storyboard box. SEN sheet and instructions were really useful for slower workers and meant they kept up. I drew some objects on the SEN storyboard and photocopied it so they had something already there.
Looks at the meaning of pacifism, peace in the Bible and lots of examples of peace symbols. Task is a choice between creating own peace symbol or writing piece on whether peace can be achieved. Extension work included too. On task slide, semaphore letters spell out peace. Pupils responded well to the task and enjoyed being creative.
Includes 2 clips - 1 from Scrubs and 1 from The Office, both have been edited so they are quite short. Pupils discuss what happened and whether they were good resolutions or not. Proverbs sheet is one for pupils to rate which are best, 2 extension tasks.
Ensure you go over what happened in each clip - some pupils won't have seen them before and it is a little bit fast for them to keep up. Also, explain what a proverb is - that was my mistake!!
PowerPoint with information. Could not attach video for some reason, but easily found on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diP-1TT2nrw&feature=related
Hangman, Back to Back activity and written task.
A unit I wrote on celebrity and religion - based around project work. It's useful for engaging students to see the relevance of learning RE today, but also developing collaborative work skills. 6 full lessons, all resources uploaded. I would appreciate feedback!
A nice way to finish a unit on Jesus, bringing it up to date and relevant to students to see how his life still influences us today.
The clips are youtube links.
