The focuses of the mats / boards are:
Sociological Approach & Research Methods
Social Structures, Processes and Issues
The Sociology of Families
The Sociology of Education
Crime and Deviance
Social Stratification.
Same material in two formats: PowerPoint and Word.
These can be used as:
* Do Now / starter tasks across the course. For example:
* picking a letter linked to the date such as M for Monday
* picking a letter linked to the pupils’ / teacher’s name
* Revision lessons / homework / independent practice.
To use these as a ‘revise your own name’ task, ask pupils to:
Pick the 1st 7 (or another number) unique letters of their name.
Ignore any repeated letters. For example, Mohammad Abdul would be answering the tasks for letters M, O, H, A, M, D and B.
Answer the questions.
The most commonly used vowels have the longer 12 mark questions. The rest are simple 3-4 mark questions.
Many of the questions are based on the ‘check your understanding’ tasks from the Collins text book.
