This presentation introduces similes in the context of Roald Dahl's characters. It is quite a short activity for Year 4 children, but can easily be extended, as you can imagine. I have found it very successful; the children really &'get&'; it :)

I planned a week's worth of reading and writing activities based on the fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast. There is a link to the online text, and I used the official 2017 film trailer for the short video on Wednesday. It is for Year 3, but could be adapted, of course!
