As the title suggests this is a presentation on the History of Journalism. It covers the origins of journalism and how it evolved from the 19th to the 20th Century. It then moves on the current state of journalism, why the Leveson inquiry happened, and poses questions for the future of journalism. There is some light- hearted relief with some famous and witty headlines and a look at sensationalism. It is possible to cut parts of the presentation out to suit your own individual needs.

This is a 90 minute lesson on oral presentation for post 16 students. The lesson begins with a focus on different types of oral presentation. Students are then invited to reflect on what makes a poor presentation and then, what makes a winning presentation. The lesson encourages students to reflect on their own performance, and asks them to analyse and evaluate two well known speeches in order to achieve the lesson objectives.
