For example, using solely the photo’s can generate lots of opportunities to find out what the children already know/if they know what these places are called/if they’ve visited these places. Can be used in KS1 to encourage the children to remember facts about important places in Manchester, they could then go on to do further research themselves or present what they remember. At KS2 the children could write their own guides on Manchester or a persuasive leaflet.
