Using Dexter and Dood - Superheroes these word problems add context to the mathematical concept of retrieving information from a word problem and then solving the problem. All four operations, time and fractions are placed into fun word problems.

I'm aware there is very little out there to assess our Year 1&amp;'s reading progress. I have used my own book and a non-fiction piece of writing to assess the children&amp;';s understanding within 1c, 1b and 1a. If you need any higher levels, try my year 2 test for 2c, 2b and 2a. Due to the popularity of the other optional tests, I have written another. This mirrors the 2003 paper again, using the 'Dexter and Dood - superheroes&' range of books. The mark scheme, questions and thresholds is included. The text is colourful and modern and gives an accuate reading level for our developing readers.

2 different sheets relating to the story 'Dexter and Dood - superheroes&' where the children have to read the text and then answer the questions. The questions take the role of inference and deduction and have a SATs style of questioning.

Using the Dexter and Dood superhero range of resources, the children can read these puzzle, access the key information and then write a number sentence using written methods. There are colourful and in most cases require more than one calculation to find the answer.

From my 'Dexter and Dood - superheroes&' range these time problems look at mixing units of hours and minutes, including seconds and the time on the clock. Some of these are multi-step so they have ask for different calculations to be used all within the &';time' focus

Ten pages of comprehension relating to the story 'Dexter and Dood - Superheroes&'. The questions are varied and take the role of QCA/SATs style questioning to assess the children&';s retrieval of information, inference and deduction. The story is a humourous fantasy story that is certain to engage all emerging readers.

Using the 2004 SATs reading test, I have modelled this test entirely on the questions within this test. Using one of the chapters from my book 'Dexter and Dood - superheroes,&' the story looked at inference and deduction using the SATS style technique. The answers and levels are included.
