Model text to support Cosmic by Frank Cottrell-Boyce. Written for Y5 class using the Talk for Writing approach. The text includes the following learning objectives: direct and indirect speech, fronted adverbials, paragraphs, pronouns, brackets, ellipses and varied sentence openers. It also includes words from the Y5/6 new curriculum spelling list. It is written in the first person and past tense. The class could then write a diary entry from the point of view of the head teacher or from another child at the school - perhaps Liam’s friend Florida?
