This is a 24pp+ PowerPoint SOW that will guide you and your students through the requirements for the Component 2: Developing Digital Media Production Skills Assessment.

The Powerpoint begins by introducing the expected work-flow for this component, then navigates through techniques for Idea Generating and idea development. It then looks at basic Pre-Production requirements for both Publishing Sector and the Moving Image Sector. (Not interactive, sorry).

After this it sets out the grading criteria and how this maps across to real classroom tasks and outcomes. It clearly suggests what evidence students should be creating for the final exam assessment.

There are slides dedicated to both Publishing and Moving Image pathways, and a ‘self assessment’ slide which gets students to think about what they might be missing for the next Mark Band up.

This is all brought together through the use of a MOCK exam project which will take students the full 10 hours to complete.

Please note - this resource assumes that your students have been doing practical workshops and that they already have the digital media production skills required to make a media product.

This is an 8 x hours lesson full SOW.

Each lesson has a Pre-Lesson flipped learning task for students to do in Independent study time.

The lessons are fully structured and aim to consolidate the pre-learning task. They re-cap theory, get students to demonstrate and apply knowledge to the set texts. All the learning aims of the spec are covered.

This SOW relies on the set media theories having been covered prior to starting this SOW as the theory slides offer only a re-cap of the key points. (A full 24 lesson SOW for theory will also be added to my store)

You will be able to download a fully editable Powerpoint presentation so that you can adapt for your own cohort where some tasks may not work for you or your cohort. The SOW collates resources from across the internet to aid in the teaching of this unit and has active hyperlinks. I have run this as an 8 hour SOW, but some lessons could last two lessons to allow for less out of lesson work.

**NOTE BEFORE BUYING ** Two of the Pre-Learning tasks require the FREE Eduqas Fact Sheets for the two Films downloadable for the Eduqas, AND two require access to the Mark Dixon book Media Theory for A-Level (I am not on commission for his book, its just a really good book for this qualification!)

This is a double sided resource (great for laminating). It is deigned to guide students through an independent analysis of any media text. I created this for A Level Media, but also use it to stretch and challenge my GCSE students.

We use laminated copies in class, students choose one activity/question to complete at a time. It breaks down a daunting analytical task into small chunks. I have found it great for engaging boys.
