<p>Five resources aimed at introducing key terminology to SEN pupils around the topic of senses. Widget / Communicate in Print prepared and placed into PowerPoint for ease of use. Includes:</p> <ul> <li>Senses spelling and matching activities</li> <li>Senses flashcards and word search</li> <li>Sensory investigation scaffold (physical objects will need to be provided by the teacher)</li> </ul> <p>Ideally, these are best used as starter activities over the course of the topic, or can be used as a rotation activity in one lesson.</p>

<p>A KS3 SEN / lower primary resource aimed at developing language around the sound topic. Interactive, including practicals and supporting listening skills. Focuses on Glastonbury festival, with a video of Ed Sheeran performing. Also encourages children to ‘guess the sound’, create their own sounds using African Drums following a demonstration video and uses dominoes and a guitar to model sound travelling.</p> <p>A PowerPoint scaffold is also provided as an independent learning opportunity.</p> <p>You will need a guitar and dominoes to demonstrate the particles moving. Cut outs of ear and guitar are provided in the PowerPoint. Links to additional videos for guess the sound also provided, along with worksheets for this activity and sensory discussion activity during the Ed Sheeran video…</p>

A report scaffold that requires independent study (suitable demand), table creation and also has some links to video’s on heart dissection and heart function (YouTube).</p> <p>James Hargreaves’ Structure and Function of Digestive System (also on TES, for free) used in conjunction, but not a part of this resource.</p>

<p>An activity aimed at either KS3 or lower ability KS4 pupils, this cut and stick activity considers four different environments and the types of organisms that can be found there. Pupils cut out and stick the correct organism / name of organism onto the right environment, and then follow through with a research activity around adaptations.</p>
