A nice simple worksheet that has a diagram of a flower and it's parts to copy or colour and a cloze procedure to apply knowledge. I would recommend some practical dissection of a daffodil or similar cheap flower to look at parts before/after using this resource.

A poetry generator for the children to make their own poems with an Autumn theme. There is also a comprehension on an Autumn poem. Extra pictures of leaves or pumpkins that can be used to colour or add adjectives in to make nice decorative pieces for Literacy folders or displays. A powerpoint has been added with lots of photos of Autumn just in case you can't walk around your grounds collecting leaves etc. NB Clipart is public domain.

Aimed at 5-9 age group. Retelling of 3 Little Pigs in A4 and 15 comprehension questions, ranging from a simple yes no answer to I think questions. Comes in a Word document to change or cut and paste onto a whiteboard as you need. Story can also be used in Guided Reading to find adjectives, connectives, paragraphs and sentences boundaries. Can be improved by better pupils by asking who is speaking and adding extra speech.

Several days work here. First a normal differentiated comprehension on making a pizza. Next Adjectives work on ingredients. I'd recommend watching Shrek for a few minutes on the part that has dinner alone eating slugs etc. Then read model Ogre's pizza and substitute nice ingredients for horrible ones.
