This lesson explores the different reasons why Henry VIII changed the Church. The students have to place the reasons into different categories.
It is differentiated for different abilities.
Resources are for an active lesson where pupils circulate teaching each other whether the British empire was a force of evil or good.
Pupils work in pairs; one half of the pair stays seated whilst the other half of the pair roatates teaching their card to others.
Then you complete with a Parliament activity.
A lesson that introduces pupils to justice and injustice. You could also use it to compare justice in this country compared to another. I used USA and Dubai as an example. Therefore Justice in one country may not be held acceptable as justice in another.

This is a mystery lesson where the students are not told who the subject of the lesson is. They have to use the clues to solve the mystery. I placed them in groups of four for the task and told them that they are detectives for the duration of the lesson.
My Year 9 (mixed ability) class loved it. I gave out kitkat for the winners.
I prepared this lesson as an introduction to how the Germans may feel about the terms.
Cut up the resource sheet into four section (self-explanatory once you look at the sheet) then stick it into four sections of the room. Students are to use a fish diagram to complete the main task.

A lesson exploring slavery through time.
This could be used as an introduction lesson before studying black slavery. The aim of the lesson is for students to realise that slavery existed for many years before it became a global trade with black slavery.
It is lesson focused on short and long causes of WWI. The pupils have to sort the cards into short term and long term causes.
For plenary, the students have to write a letter to a friend and they can come up with a success criteria as a class and peer mark the letter.
A very basic introduction to get the students thinking about The Holocaust and genocides around the world.
Their subsequent lessons will explore The Holocaust in detail.
