These books can be printed, folded and illustrated by young children as they learn English. This is a set of 12 books plus the free book Draw Me A - Friends.

Teaching non-native English speakers, I have made this resource to help students recognise the words in the sentences used for the test. I use the test at the end of Grade 1 (age 6-7) with Bangladeshi children to find a reading age.
Some associations are difficult - suggestions for better clip-art pictures for ‘it’ and ‘have’ are welcome.

With this simple Bingo card generator you can create nine (18 in Google sheets) unique bingo cards with 20 different words, number problems and even pictures. You can cut and paste lists of up to twenty words or enter them one by one.

Request access to the Google Sheet for the ability to embed pictures on the boards. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12n18bew0B6rFiU8cjX2qPmRVHpNw4ksJuTJUNhefnpw/edit#gid=226373466

In this version letters are in alphabetical order. The images are black and white. The learner wishing to practice the letter sounds must click and drag an image to the letter that matches the initial sound in each word. (Exceptions are boX and foX, that must go on the X.)

Help children write out the first steps of a scientific enquiry into dissolving salt in water. There are not enough boxes to complete the exercise, students can use the back of the paper to finish by recording results, writing their conclusion and evaluating the experiment.

The only issue was that some children thought iron, steel and other things were simply metals.

The powerpoint contains four slides.
The first two slides are the answer sheets. The last two can be printed as work sheets to assess mastery of Level 1 words from the Structured Spelling Lists from the Literacy Hour.
(Some pictures could be better, some are specific to the location, all are added because the children are ESL)
I print the first two on A4 paper for the children.
