3 -6 lessons on advertising. Part 1 is an analysis of two pen adverts with an exemplar analysis which students can look at after completing their own. Part 2 looks at other forms of advertising linked to one of the print advertisements - students can create their own adverts and script a radio ad. Part 3 - Speaking and listening exercise. Students have to sell a pen to the class. Using resources & watching videos from links in presentation. Activity allows peer assessment and contextual learning of a sales job - often the first task given to prospective employees at interview.

It’s a useful task to get students analysing how representation is constructed and influenced by genre, but also to get used to referencing key characters by name and function within the narrative.<br />
Hint: use subtitles if you do future screenshots to show what key dialogue is taking place.<br />

I created this resource to teach a mixed ability Year 10 group about persuasive writing tecnniques. Seems a shame to waste it. <br />

Activity is filled out during first half of lesson (review point) and was adapted from another TES resource, I just added the blanks. The PowerPoint has working links for video or Trump and Obama speaking those exact parts. Try getting students to watch and then listen, or listen, and the watch. <br />

Lesson plan is not fixed and you could probably deliver this lesson over 2-4 hours if you wanted to.<br />
Feedback from students was very positive - make sure you print off the tweet sheets for them to use as a plenary. More ideas at the back.<br />

An easy to use grid that allows all A2 Media Students to evaluate their own work using OCRs mark scheme. Teachers can then add comments and use the same grid to accurately assess coursework before submitting work for moderation. References all mark criteria in the new order of importance (revision from Sept 2011).

This works great for the G322 exam in film for audiences and institutions because it shows how a big institution like Disney can get it so wrong.
