4 essay titles and writing frames to help students plan their answers for the section essay title. <br /> 1 Shopping /2 Food and mealtimes /3 Planning a visit /4 A visit to Paris/5 Describing a best friend<br /> I have used this type of writing frame with lower ability students stressing the importance of ensuring that they answer all elements of the task in order not to lose communication marks.<br /> I have noticed that this sort of student frequently gives up on the task 3/4 of the way through, writing too much on each section and running out of time. This way they see that 20 words per answer is not too much and they can add in extra opinions and detail to each section later if they have time. I have encouraged them to set out their answer like this in the exam so that they can go back to each element of the task, time permitting.
