<p>Question 5 lesson on narratives / descriptive writing with a short narrative I wrote myself as a typical ‘student answer’ in order to get students to think about a range of language features and structural choices. Based on the common ‘lady sitting on train looking out window’ image.</p>

<p>28 slide full Paper 1 exam walkthrough designed for students to do independently based on the party scene (chapter 3) in ‘The Great Gatsby’. Exam questions are preceeded by little tasks / modelling to prepare students for each main question and review slides. Useful on its own or could be split into sections to be taught question by question in class.</p>

<p>This is a model answer for a short story opening in the style of Dystopian fiction. It was originally written for Year 8 top set and includes teacher annotations explaining how the story has been built up (features, foreshadowing, inference etc.) The back page just has a couple of additional questions to get students thinking.</p> <p>May also be useful for GCSE class prep on fiction writing.</p>

<p>Dagger scene (orginal shakespearean and the modern version) with arrows from certain points to ask questions in a form of ‘guided analysis’ of the scene. Leads to final extended question that students could then answer.</p>

<p>This is an AQA Poetry Anthology style model essay comparing the effects of conflict in the poems ‘Remains’ and ‘War Photographer’. Essay is higher ability and about the length one might expect to write in the exam time provided.</p>

<p>AQA English Language Paper 1 full exam based on an extract from ‘The Lost Symbol’. All five questions as well as model answers. Answers are for higher end but easily adaptable.</p>
