Label a diagram of liebig condenser, then label stages (boiling, evaporating, condensing, collecting) and cloze text about distillation.
Suitable for low -medium ability KS3 group.
Here is a set of three differentiated worksheets on melting and boiling points aimed at a year 7 class. There is an easier version, a medium version and a more difficult version.<br />

These are best in printed in colour due of the visual temperature scale. I hope it helps!
This worksheet clearly explains how to draw dot and cross diagrams for covalent compounds, using Cl2 as an example.
Pupils are then asked to practise drawing dot and cross diagrams.
This worksheet asks pupils to complete dot and cross diagrams (they only need to add the electrons) and is suitable for a low ability group, or as an introduction/ revision for covalent bonding for middle/higher groups.
Please leave any positive feedback or constructive comments. Thank you.
Intended as a cut and stick/ card sort activity, students are to arrange the cards together with the name of the organelle, a few facts about the structure or function of the organelle, a diagram and a photograph. Includes information on the nucleus, mitochondria, chloroplasts, RER, SER, lysosomes, Golgi apparatus and centrioles. NB I have also uploaded the answers.
I hope it is useful to someone and please leave any comments.
This higher ability helpsheet (with questions) teaches pupils how to write ionic formula by pairing up molecules with appropriate charges.
In my opinion the compounds they make up do not have to exist in the real world - they are only practising the principle of pairing up ions with appropriate charges.
Please leave any positive or constructive feedback as I appreciate any comments that help to improve the quality of my resources and my teaching.
Many thanks.
Elements compounds mixtures molecules atoms formula. This is a very simple worksheet designed for lower ability KS3 which is quite self explanatory and requires a periodic table to complete. Please let me know of any improvements I can make. Thanks!
<p>This is a stand alone task, ideally given to students at the end of a topic on variation, adaptations and/or evolution.</p>
<p>This is a reading comprehension task and helps students to understand the topic of variation and evolution as a whole.</p>
<p>The concepts of adaptations, mutations and natural selection are outlined.</p>
<p>This worksheet is solely my work.</p>
<p>Please give feedback if you feel so inclined.</p>
This levelled worksheet (including level ladder) asks pupils to use a diagram (provided) to explain how ionic bonds form and why (Example used is NaCl). Also space to write down how to work out the formula of an ion.
Please leave any positive or constructive feedback.
Many thanks.
A short story about a day in the life of a mouse. including the seven life processes: movement, respiration, sensitivity, nutrition, excretion, reproduction and growth. Suitable for KS3 and KS4 classification of living things. Includes extension task. No extra material required.
If anyone could enlighten me as to this supposed incorrect science, I would appreciate it!
This helpsheet (with questions) explains to pupils how to draw ionic bonding diagrams.
Includes a clearly explained step by step example (NaCl) and asks pupils to draw diagrams for a range of ionic compounds.
Please leave any positive or constructive feedback as I always read it. Thanks
Very basic introduction to working out and writing the formulae of compounds. Any constructive feedback welcomed.
Atoms, elements, compounds, molecules.
A comprehensive list of revision questions to revise knowledge for the whole of the B1.1 Unit 'Keeping Healthy'.
It's a good idea to make exercise books/ appropriate text books available for students to help them answer these questions.
This is a guide for students learning how to balance equations. Includes diagrams and a worked example. I made the sheet totally from scratch for my own middle ability groups. Please leave comments/constructive criticisms as I always read them. Many thanks.
Blank mindmap to be filled in by students. Human population growth and associated problems: waste management, acid rain, pollution, eutrophication, deforestation, resources, recycling.
This levelled worksheet (including level ladder) is a table that pupils fill in to help understanding of ion formation, ionic charges and naming simple ions.
Requires access to a periodic table.
This booklet is a really simple way to ensure all students complete all written sections of an investigation including title, hypothesis, risks, variables, method, equipment, results, analysis, graph, conclusion, evaluation. Suitable for use with ALL years for ANY science topic.
It is an A4 booklet which you print double sided (and 2 sides to a page). The pages are ordered for ease of printing in the booklet style. Please feel free to leave any comments of how this resource could be improved. Thank you!
Domino cards containing 22 key words relating to sexual intercourse, fertilisation and pregnancy.
Can be used for playing dominos (Justify why words link), or kept on the table as key words for doing extended writing, or for making crossword clues, or you can use class set of dictionaries to make sure they all know all of the meanings. Also I play word wall (from the Lottery game show) where I ask which word means '_____' and they must find the right card and hold it up, not just shout out the answer, this helps students learn spellings and recognise words.
