This literacy and drama whole lesson plan contains both written and physical activities. The resources encourage pupils to think creatively whilst practicing guided reading. The activities are to be spread over a period of two/three lessons, however these can be shortened by removing a couple of the activities. Workshops are intended for key stage 2, years 3,4 and 5. <br /> * A small story overview <br /> *Character cards - for pupils to think and write about certain characters from the book in detail. <br /> * In-depth but fun Drama activities to do both in the classroom and in the school hall. <br /> * A diary entry for children to fill in to use as a reflection of the whole process as either the character of Sophie or the character of the BFG. this will allow children to reflect on what they have done and what they have learnt, this also provides the teacher with a form of assessment. <br /> Pupils can pick any moment in the story to write about in their diary. <br /> <br /> differentiated resources are included within this English and drama workshop pack. <br /> <br /> Examples of soundscapes; The night Sophie met the Giant, In the BFG's Cave, In the Dream country, trapping the Giants etc.<br /> <br /> All activities within this pack are created with group work, peer assessment, knowledge enhancement and different learning styles in mind.

Pupils can fill out the diary as either the BFG or Sophie and can choose any point of the story. This will allow children to reflect on what they have done and what they have learnt, this also provides the teacher with a form of assessment. <br /> <br /> All activities within this pack are created with group work, peer assessment, knowledge enhancement and different learning styles in mind.
