This lesson allows students to be creative and apply skills of four figure grid references. Based on the game map Fortnite, pupils will create or fill in the blanks for a journey around the island. This lesson (2-3 hours) is designed around the concept of fast fashion and the damaging impacts it has on the environment. The example of the shrinking Aral Sea is used as a case study. One of the tasks involves creating a GIS overlay (using tracing paper) to show the shrinking over the decades. A really successful lesson with classes at KS3 and 4, with positive student responses.

This is an A3 revision sheet that combines all learning of courses of a river and the features within them. It would work well for an introduction to river features too. Y8 Lesson on Development in the Desert, a case study of Las Vegas

This presentation looks at growth and decline of rural areas in the UK. A case study on the Growth of rural areas, looks at Hessle (East Yorkshire) as an example.

Each plate boundary has three cards. The students will sort them into their catagories, then gule the top ridges together. This will form a flip book.

This resource involves students using information sheets to complete top trumps cards on the different sources of energy (renewable and non-renewable). Once completed, students will cut out the cards and play against each other. It is a fantastic way to get students to recap and recall the evaluative factors of each energy type. Classes have loved this lesson.

The class will have the opportunity to design an energy producing machine or a green product. This activity will work best when the class have studied energy (specifically renewables). This work sheet has space for the pupils to design their green machine and write about how it works and how it is eco-friendly. There is also an opportunity for the pupils to complete a stretch and challenge task based on the TV show dragons den. Three questions will help them create a pitch to the dragons, aiming to gain investment for their product/ machine.
