Population and Settlement Key Terms

These are clearly presented and (fairly) comprehensive key words lists for the population and settlement topics.

They were originally created for the CIE IGCSE Geography syllabus (code 0460), but can be used as general population and settlement key words lists.

I’ve created two versions; one which includes the key terms and one without (which can be shared with students who then have to fill in the missing terms).

Geography Blockbusters

People of a certain age will remember the day time quiz show Blockbusters in which teams answered questions to light up squares in different colours and make their way across the board. This is a version that can be used in the classroom, and is a fun activity for end of term or as a general geography quiz.

There have been lots of versions of similar things made and posted in the past, but the difference with this version is that it also includes a carefully compiled list of geography questions for every letter! There are on average about 18 to 24 questions for each letter adding up to about 500 questions in total!

You can adjust the board with different combinations of letters to suit your needs. Instructions can be found on the first slides of the attached PowerPoint.

CIE IGCSE Geography (0460): Paper One Questions by Topic

(0)

This document helps IGCSE Geography teachers to find past paper questions for specific topics, without having to trawl through ALL the past papers! The first page is an overview with questions being broadly categorised according to the main topic area they are about (i.e. rivers, plate tectonics, tourism etc.). Then each section breaks down the questions and topics further so you can easily find questions on specific topics such as the causes of earthquakes or settlement hierarchy.
