Series of lessons based around separating salt, sand and iron fillings. This includes 4 lessons, with a powerpoint, booklet and teacher plan for each lesson. It is perfect for group work, and discovery learning. I have run it with both a top and bottom set class successfully. This is a fully resourced project to design a coat looking a conduction, convection and radiation. It is planned to last 6 lessons centered around a simple practical. It includes a booklet which has spaces for self and peer assessment as well as a final teacher assessment at the end. Each lesson has differentiated support slides (red for the least support, amber middle and lower for high levels of support). I have run this parallel with a top and bottom set class with each achieving highly. It has also been used by a non-specialist supply and in a standard classroom rather than a science lab.
