<p>Suitable for Years 5 and upwards. This will explain: who gladiators were, why they fought and how they were viewed through Roman eyes. Clips from Gladiator and Decisive Battles. Lots of engaging actvities for the children, a homework pack and a template to make your own Gladius!</p>

<p>For Year 5 / 6</p> <p>This fun and engaging activity will let children get hands-on. This game of chance has a debating side to it as the children discuss luck and whether it exists. Children will collect data as they go, record their findings and then explain them. The end results will allow children to work with: fractions, decimals, percentages, graphs, pie charts and bar models.</p> <p>Extension tasks are available as well through discussions on probability.</p>

<p>For Years 4+. This fun, engaging and interactive board game can be printed out and played straight away. Tokens included - all you is one dice. Children will see a whole range of items and names associated with life in the trenches as they progress along the board. As children play, they will write down what is happening to them. At the end of the game, the children can research further into certain aspects of what they have written down.</p> <p>After the game, children can discuss what they think were the worst things that happened to them, or the most exciting.</p>

<p>Suitable for Year 5+</p> <p>The lesson will go through the whole campaign, the technology used, the problems and how it was won. Video clips within the presentation. The handout is to be filled in throughout the presentation. I start this lesson with a piece of plumbing (see lesson plan) to show them the difficulty in spotting a u-boat’s periscope.</p> <p>Children can design their own convoy plan to defend against enemy attacks.</p>

The war at sea was supposed to be a clash of Titans, the Royal Navy (the world’s greatest maritime power) and the Kaiser’s Imperial Fleet. <p>Designed for Year 6 but can be used up to Year 9. A full lesson debating the ethics and morality of all bombing during WW2. The lesson will finish with the use of atomic bombs and whether bombing during the war should be seen as a warcrime. Lesson plan and handouts are included.</p>
