<p>This is a 36-lesson scheme covering the entirety of Malorie Blackman’s novel.<br /> All lessons include full Powerpoints, Word documents for extracts which need printing, integrated video links and differentiated assessments in line with skills for the AQA English Literature Paper 1 Exam.</p> <p>It is aimed at Year 8 students, but can easily be adapted for Year 9 as well.</p> <p>The scheme also explores historical context, the trope of the ‘star-crossed lovers’ across time and cultures, media adaptations and more!</p> <p>Lessons include:</p> <ol> <li>A clear starting activity.</li> <li>Clearly indicated class reading slides alongside the amount of readers needed.</li> <li>A warning slide for difficult topics which are covered in the novel.</li> <li>Time allocations for tasks.</li> <li>A variety of analytical, creative, debate, research-based, performance and ongoing small project tasks.</li> <li>Plenty of stretch and challenge!</li> </ol> <p>The scheme can easily stretch across two half-terms or one full term.</p>
