<p>A geographical study of historical settlements in Britain and how they have changed over time with a focus on the Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.</p> <p>10 lessons looking at the meaning of a settlement through map study work, geographical understanding of place names and roads, understanding why certain locations were chosen by these historical groups and a comparison of settlements.</p>

<p>A presentation and arts council application to be used in schools before starting a new arts council. Children can apply and state why they would be perfect for the role!</p>

<p>A 9 lesson unit of work based on Auguste Rodin. The experimentation lessons explore sketching skills, proportion of the human form and then move on to using clay to create hand sculptures inspired by Auguste Rodin’s work.</p>

<p>History - Local Study: The Pottery Industry.</p> <p>When I was teaching a unit of work in History about our local history in the pottery industry, I really struggled to find lessons and resources. I created this unit with a focus on significance and evidence analysis. A complete unit of lessons, powerpoints and tasks. All can be adapted and changed to meet the needs of the user.</p>

<p>Art - Barbara Hepworth.</p> <p>Unit of work for KS1 looking at Barbara Hepworth’s work. Children create a sculpture at the end of the unit using clay.</p>

<p>History - Romans.</p> <p>Children identify clues about a Roman Soldier to report back to their chief. Children hot seat the soldier to find out information.</p>
