Sheet 1 is Hamlet's first speech in Act 1, Scene 2. Sheet 2 has the mixed up annotations, which can be cut out and stuck onto sheet 1 (or copied out). The students have to match up the words/phrases to the annotations. Sheet 3 is the answers, which includes the speech and the annotations in the correct place. This was designed for AS/A2 students.

A PowerPoint and worksheets for revision and notes for each topic for Paper 2 - Language Varieties. The student version sheet has each topic (Language and Occupation, Language and Region, Language and Gender and Language and Social Groups) in the middle of a spider diagram with the theorist around it with space for them to fill in the theory/research for each. The teacher version has detailed answers. These would also be ideal for displays.

AS English Literature - the Moor House section of Jane Eyre.

This is an introductory lesson on writing opinion articles for paper 2, section B. This resources includes links to a radio show with questions for the students to answer as they listen. The answers are also included. The lesson also includes a research task and a planning task for students to plan their articles. This focuses on the AO5 marks. I taught this before teaching the theories (AO2) as an introduction to writing creatively.

This resource has mind maps for each of the topics (grammar, lexis and semantics, discourse and graphology, phonetics, and pragmatics). Each mind map contains key terms with space for students to fill in definitions and examples. The second resource is an answer sheet with hand written notes. Helpful for revision or for learning the key terms during the year.

A lesson focusing on the language of the police with an AQA style exam question for Paper 2 Section A of the AQA AS English Language exam 2016. It looks at different types of questions and includes a transcript I created of a police interrogation (on the PowerPoint and a Word document for the students. ). It also includes the exam marking criteria for the question. I've also included a PDF of my annotated transcript.

A booklet split into the four key topics (Region, Occupation, Gender and Social Groups) with the key theorists and title of their work for each topic. There is space underneath each theorists for the students to fill in a summary. The second document is the same booklet with the answers filled. A sample page has been added as a Word doc to give an idea of what each booklet looks like - I don't think the Publisher document is visible as a sample.

An introductory lesson on Language and Occupation for AQA Paper 2 exam.

A detailed PowerPoint outlining the main theories in Children's Language Development: Nativist, Behaviourist, Social Interactionist and Cognitive Theory. This was used as an outline for the main theories as a revision tool for the students to use.

Carol Ann Duffy annotated poems. This resource contains all 14 poems from the ‘Mean Time’ collection for AQA AS/A Level English Language and Literature. On each poem are handwritten and very detailed annotations. Hopefully this will be a useful and time saving resource!
