<p>Harry Potter inspired science lessons linking to Year 5 science curriculum - mainly changing state, dissolving, solutions and properties of materials but also including life cycles and gravity.</p> <p>Powerpoint has WALTs linked to targets and enough experiments/written activities to cover 10 or more lessons. I have given scenarios from Harry Potter characters linking to ideas of potions to inspire them with work on dissolving etc. Notes in the bottom section give teaching pointers.</p>

Images from the book Egyptian Cinderella cropped and sized to show to whole class on IWB. Images could also be stuck in books and used for inference or generating descriptive vocabulary. We did this text at the same time as our Ancient Egyptian topic but could also be used for retelling stories or familiar tales.

<p>2-3 weeks unit of work on Alice in Wonderland. Covering describing a setting/character, poetry and figurative language. USed for Year 5 class but could be tweaked to suit any KS2.</p>

A maths lesson where children had to write lengths in different ways converting between mm cm and m. We linked this to our Stone Age topic using a woolly mammoth but it's a cute lesson as a stand alone. Differentiated 3 ways.

This hits a Year 3 target.<br /> Some questions are based on a contents page, some are retrieval from a fact page.<br /> Some slides for whole class teaching also, printable for children's books. Final slide has a response question to prompt higher order thinking.<br /> We have used it at the same time as our Forces and Magnets topic in Science.

A price list and addition word problems for adding amounts of money. Fits with Year 3 curriculum but could easily be adapted for other year groups. Includes a challenge for children who have finished.

Revise times tables facts with this fun codebreaker. Children answer the questions to reveal the hidden message!

I used this towards the end of Year 3 to provide general revision of the four operations. Could easily be used in other Year groups. Children worked in pairs to go around and answer the questions. I laminated and used outside. Great for creating a buzz and linking to outdoor learning. <br /> It doesn't matter which question the children start on as they go around in a loop.
