My adaption of a plenary I got from a resource during my PGCE year. Great way to sum up a lesson. Kids also really remember it and ask to use it again.
Helping students to learn how to describe pictures. Geography exams often ask pupils to describe an image but many of them are confused how to do it.
The Toy Story Task is a great way to get pupils to think about observing and studying pictures closely.
I mentioned this idea to my sixth formers at a recent parents evening. It's a case study summary document to help students link case studies to the A level specification. It's a very basic template and you can easily edit the topic titles.
As students complete wider reading for each topics they can add them to the relevant list. This will provide a good breadth of knowledge and will give them plenty of examples to support 20 markers.
To use when working on Environmental Concerns, or topics relating to Resources, Global Issues.
Can be set as a introduction starter activity, a summing up exercise, a homework sheet.
These can be printed out and distributed to the class as a starter activity about erosional landforms or can be used as plenary activity.
I used it as a recap starter the next lesson to see how much the class had remembered.
