<p>A media unit created for the second year of secondary school (S2).<br /> Suitable for teaching over the course of 6-8 weeks.</p> <p>Based on the Disney film “Brave”, it focuses on Scottish nationality, characterisation, annotation, stereotypes, report writing and film poster analysis. From there it drifts away from the film, into the world of myths and legends, with as a final task the character creation of a mythical creature, followed by creative writing.</p> <p>A complete unit with PowerPoints and worksheets.</p>

<p>This set of lessons is created for the first year of secondary school (S1).<br /> It covers 3-4 weeks.</p> <p>The lessons are based on a short story by Ray Bradbury - There Will Come Soft Rains.<br /> The package consists of PowerPoints, worksheets, and handouts. In the PowerPoints, there are several interactive activities included. Learning intentions and success criteria are present for the start of every new lesson, in the presentation.</p> <p>Purpose of the unit is to lead pupils towards a persuasive writing assignment. Along the way the lessons focus on close reading, vocabulary, and gathering information.</p>

It is then followed by the classroom rules for the discussion to make sure everyone feels safe.</p> <p>Then there are slides, each containing a statement for discussion. They start relatively light, but become heavier as the discussion progresses.</p>
