Everyone writing in class. These sessions are designed as short, stand alone sessions of about 20 minutes - up levelling writing.

The focus is on Openers and can be used as lesson starters or short stand alone sessions just to have a go at writing. My class love doing these activities and always want to write more.

UPDATED to use CONJUNCTIONS (not connectives) and FRONTED ADVERBIALS. This includes most of the grammar objectives for Year 4. Smelly feet, refers to Don't repeat, smelly feet! which encourages children to vary their vocabulary. <br />

<p>These plans use the excellent animation REPLAY for the main short story focus - a brilliant but challenging film that always results in amazing writing. It uses the Piano for sentence level work but when The Piano has already been studied in Yr 5, I have used Harry Potter for sentence level work. These extracts can be used to identify noun and verb phrases, fronted adverbials etc. or can be used as starting points for creative writing.

The play emphasises the need to use interesting words, read books and visit the library. There are about 20 parts but could be amended to add more.
