<p>This KS3 booklet covers Isometric drawing, Presentation techniques and Orthographic drawing. This 16 page booklet is ideal as an introduction to year 7 and contains instruction and exercises which can be used as classwork or homework. It is accompanied by a PowerPoint which takes the pupils through the resource step by step.</p>
<p>It is designed to ideally fit 6 one hour sessions and covers the following topics:</p>
<ul>
<li>Freehand sketching (lines, circles and ellipses)</li>
<li>Isometric drawing including crating.</li>
<li>Isometric circles and cylinders.</li>
<li>Isometric exercises both on isometric grid paper (supplied) and using grid paper as an underlay.</li>
<li>Presentation techniques - Thick and thin line.</li>
<li>Presentation techniques - Light, medium and dark shading.</li>
<li>Presentation techniques - Textured shading.</li>
<li>Orthographic projection.</li>
<li>Adding dimensions and hidden detail.</li>
<li>Orthographic projection exercise (this requires simple blocks of wood to be cut as drawing aids, of which there is a photograph in the booklet).</li>
</ul>
<p>Assessment runs through the booklet in each of the three sections and requires pupil self-assessment and a teacher grade.</p>
<p>This course is designed as a first introduction to these skills and a foundation to build in future years. Encouragement is given for pupils to then apply these skills to their other project work.</p>
