Understanding Anxieties and Strategies

A lesson to discuss the effects of anxiety on the body and some coping strategies to calm anxieties. I have used this both to deliver sessions on exam anxiety and interview anxieties and it has gone down well with students. This is a PowerPoint heavily adapting the resources provided by the South Gloucestershire Council: https://www.southglos.gov.uk/documents/Classroom-Resources.pdf One activity does require resources: a jug, a see through and an opaque mug. It did come with a lesson plan but I have lost it, will upload when found, but most slides of the ppt have comments and you should be able to lead using those. Please be aware, I may have borrowed images from different places. Apologies for any infringement, please contact and I will be happy to credit or change as required.

Used for Function Skills Entry 2 and Entry 3 classes as tutor group or English lesson activities. I split the class into groups of 5-6, they are left to discuss out of the 20 options which are most important. Encourage discussion and justification amongst the group. The worksheet can be easily adapted to change options or give different themes. Enjoy! Please be aware, I have borrowed images from different places. The resource contains a series of 8 HTML files that show the learner how to build a simple scrolling text effect. It was used to check learning when covering website design. The learner should be familiar with HTML and CSS. File 8 attempts to show to the learner how the effect works and is a great tool to first get them discussing how it may have been done.
