A step by step template to write a basic paragraph for an essay on Duffy’s Before you were Mine. AS Level pupils used this as a stepping stone to understanding what goes in a paragraph and how they can start to analyse quotations in detail. I have given pupils two WAGOLL paragraphs written using the template, and then given them 3 template paragraphs to fill in themselves. Works really well to support essay writing and quotation analysis at the beginning of the AS course.
