<p>Mixed ability Year 8 first lesson on poetry. They discuss what poetry means to them and decide if they think poetry has “rules” or not. Very fun, discussion based lesson. Poems with glossary boxes with words they may not know, as well as some definitions of poetry are included!</p>

<p>Low ability GCSE. Matching language techniques activity and gap fills, with and without suggested words. Students learn how to write a PEE paragraph on how death and foreshadowing are presented in Act 1. Resources can be printed off from the PowerPoint.</p>

<p>Year 8 PowerPoint teaching them how to identify personification and other language techniques in poetry and then use it in their own writing. Poem I used included on a word document.</p>
