<p>This lesson looks at what Malaria is and why there is an increased risk with climate change. It starts by looking at generic health implications from climate change. There is a map analysis task, a comprehension task and a scatter graph task where students describe the relationship between GDP and Malaria. There is a modelled example for a different but similar graph.</p>

<p>This lesson covers the background to 1.5 degrees and discusses different projections of climate change as well as why there is uncertainty around them.</p> <p>There is a task categorising the outcomes of the COP29 conference, a map analysis task, a gap fill and some comprehension questions.</p>

<p>This introduces student to the concept of Development. It differentiates economic and social development. Tasks include categorising the characteristics and developing and developed countries, looking at 6 basic development indicators (GDP, GDP per capita, Birth rate, life expectancy death rate and literacy rate), how these vary between countries and looks at beginning to explain why. There is a map analysis task looking at how these 6 indicators vary across the world and students either describe these patterns or simply answer atlas questions. Finally there is a task where students describe the correlation between life expectancy and GDP using a scatter graph with a modelled response.</p>
