Sheet designed for a cover lesson. Students are to design an apron for any area in Design and Technology. Space available for self and peer evaluation.
This step by step guide shows students how to:
- contour an image which has been pasted from the internet
- draw circles using specific dimensions
- create a series of shapes which are equally spaced

This guide is given to students who are designing for the laser cutter. It is particularly useful for students who find note taking difficult or those who perhaps missed your demonstration.
This is an easy to follow, step by step PowerPoint presentation to show students how to draw a city in two point perspective.

Slides show progressive images of my example alongside clear instructions for students to follow. I use this with year 9 but could be used as revision for years 10/11.

It includes A*-C criteria and an opportunity for peer assessment.
This is a 2 page worksheet based on Fauvism and the work of Andre Derain.

Students are required to give written answers to questions about the images on the sheet. Students also have the opportunity to sketch using the same techniques shown in the painting.

This can be used with KS3 both as part of a lesson or as a cover sheet as it's self explanatory.

Students are required to label both types of lathe and answer the questions around the images.

By the end of the lesson students should know:
- types of materials that can be turned on a lathe
- the health and safety precautions for using a lathe
- the effect heat can have on the tools/work-piece
- how to prevent damage from excessive heat

This is an A3 step by step guide to show students how to draw a photo frame in isometric view point.

This is particularly useful for those who say they 'can't draw' as all students will be able to produce an accurate drawing providing they follow the steps carefully.

Higher ability students can use this as a starting point and can add to the steps by changing the shape of the frames sides/base and a consistent theme can be added to each part. The example included has a United Nations theme.

I print and laminate these and use them consistently with each rotation.
This is a 20 week scheme of work suitable for KS3 students
This consists of two design and make projects whereby the end products are an MDF children's toy and a photo frame. Both products have a 'healthy living' theme and students will find inspiration from this theme as a basis for their designs.
The scheme of work shows clear links to the new draft specification published by AQA and highlights literacy and numeracy in each lesson.
Homework has also been planned for every other lesson.
20 questions based around graphics and resistant materials lessons. Questions include; images, multiple choice, answers, unscramble letters, choose the correct spelling

Answers are in the notes section,

Slides can be easily edited to suit class.
This is a newsletter template which students can use to write about Andre Derain's work. It can be printed straight onto A3 and students can write on the sheet.

Students are encouraged to use key vocabulary and analyse the work of Andre Derain, They are also required to give their personal opinion.

It gives students an opportunity to present their analysis in a different, more creative style compared to a written paragraph. Higher ability students use this as a starting point and create their on own A3 paper with encouragement to create more headings.
