A 12 page work booklet to use with Year 7 during Covid-19 closures. First page contains an easy-to-use guide on how students should use Google Translate. The booklet covers 2 lessons worth of material on using jouer a with sports and faire de with certain activities. There are also extension tasks to do with cultural capital. Each lesson contains a vocabulary based starter; an explanation of the key grammar concept and then an opportunity for students to use the grammar through translation and extended writing (scaffolded with a Conti-inspired sentence builder). I have uploaded a Microsoft word version of the document but I do also have a Google Docs version I can share in order to make it accessible to as many teachers as possible. There are various type of tasks, beginning from singular word level to introduce the new vocabulary to working at a sentence level, to a differentiated writing task, optionally scaffolded by a sentence builder. This pack is designed to cover 1 hour’s worth of remote learning work. I have uploaded them as Microsoft Word files so you can adapt them as you see fit. I have also included the answers for all tasks except the independent writing as there is no one correct answer for this.

A whole class feedback sheet to be used for feedback in MFL, either post-book marking or post formative assessment. It is a clear layout with arrows to show student progression through the sheet, to show them: 1. what they were successful at in the assessment, 2. what as a class they need to work on, 3. Any major misconceptions that need re-teaching 4. SPAG section (this is not always used) 5. A section where they can act on their feedback. A task on recognising types of property in French. A dual-coded ‘design a town’ extended writing task supported by a sentence builder from BBC Bitesize. It focuses on using J’aime/Je n’aime pas with infinitives to describe what students like or do not like doing. The lesson pack contains: A knowledge organiser, taken from Studio 1, Module 3 A simple, concise explanation of infinitives and what they are used for. Tasks designed to retrieve vocabulary, recognise infinitives and produce a well-scaffolded (through a sentence builder) piece of writing in French.
