Treasure Hunt activity revising key rules of fractions. Covering fractions of amounts, equivalent fractions/simplifying fractions, adding and subtracting fractions and multiplying and dividing fractions. Increases in difficulty thoughout. Learners need to answer the questions, find the card with the answer on, write down the symbol and match the symbol to a letter. Sounds complicated, but they love it! The final answer should be DENOMINATOR IS AT THE BOTTOM. Thanks to eam_larkin for the idea! :)

Using tree /sample space diagrams to calculate which game you are most likely to win. There are both independent and dependent questions within this task.<br /> When I use it with my class I put a laminated copy of each game around the room and leave the first slide (explaining the task) on the board. Students then work in small groups to find which game is best to play.<br /> Answers are provided to all 8 games, along with a couple of extension questions to stretch students that finish. Some students may then wish to create their own game.<br /> I have uploaded a PDF copy and a PowerPoint copy if you want to edit the first slide to your own name.

An extra extension could be asking learners to create their own questions for the answers around the edge. Goes from very simple equations to unknowns on both sides (including brackets).

Differentiated tarsia on multiplying and dividing fractions. Red dots are multiplying questions, amber dots are dividing questions and green dots are whole numbers multiplied/divided by fractions. There are some extra questions around the edge - including purple extension questions. I have also attached a tarsia with 6 deliberate mistakes on it. Print out the answers and get the learners to identify the 2 red, 2 amber and 2 green mistakes. They can then correct these and calculate the questions around the edge.
