KS3 Radio Drama Classroom Based

(1)

This 6 lesson unit covers some basic improv to start, then moving into character, vocal skills, spot effects, culminating into planning and rehearsing own scene. Links included to some online clips of scriptwriting tips, interviews etc.

Like many others, our KS3 classes need to be classroom based and behind desks for the foreseeable future. We also need to ensure that any work can be uploaded and shared for blended learning in the case of a local lockdown and / or students needing to self isolate. I didn’t want theory work, or live performance review work as many will have done that over lockdown. This radio drama unit is as practical as possible, with students writing only when it flows naturally from the task - eg writing down plans for their scripts, SFX cues etc if they want to.

Hope it helps.

Drama STAR feedback sheet

A Key Stage 3 feedback sheet following a STAR model of feedback. I use these sheets to go in the front of student folders which is then updated following each unit of work, so all feedback is in one place. For the targets I use target stickers I buy online and students select and stick them in, but could just as easily be handwritten.
