AQA A Level Physics Definitions (New Spec)

This 16-page document contains just about every single possible definition AQA can test you on and was written carefully according to looking at the official specification and analysing every single past paper and marks-scheme available online.

It includes every technical and theoretical term for every single core topic and a bonus 2 topics for the optional module of engineering physics.

I made this resource for myself as I struggled to find a complete list of definitions for A level physics for when I was revising for my exams. Doing hundreds of past paper and practice paper questions made me realise how most questions start with a question on definitions, and range from 1 to 4 marks which is vital to obtain if you want to get the highest grade possible.

When compiling this list of definitions, I saw that it was imperative you have the exact key terms and phrases when stating the definition to score all marks which is why I have literally copied the required definition from the mark-scheme into the document to make sure I scored full marks.

Finally, learning the definitions not only helps you score marks but also somehow makes you understand the topic better. I found that just looking at the key terms helped me revise a whole topic without even looking at my notes. This technique of active recall is proven to be a highly effective revision technique when trying to learn content and is way more effective than just looking over notes.

In the end, it helped me achieve an A* in physics in the summer of 2019 so I think this a pretty cool resource to have for your revision and will save you hours of typing and researching definitions, and hopefully free up more time to do past papers.

Good Luck!
