This unit can be adapted for any location very easily, e.g. towns across the UK. Please ensure the town names are added to suit you.</p> <p>Lesson 1 - To know what a leaflet is.<br /> Children are introduced to audience (family about to move to location) and purpose (create a leaflet to help them discover more).<br /> Starter task image can be altered to match town you are teaching.</p> <p>Lesson 2 - Features of a leaflet.<br /> Children explore a model leaflet, spotting key features as they go.</p> <p>Lesson 3 - Unpick sections of the leaflet to support future lesson focuses.<br /> These include: Where is Leicester? What can I do there? What happened here? Who is… (famous person section/historian)?<br /> This lesson uses a Leicester (teacher-made) leaflet. This can however be easily adapted to another town (by editing on leaflet word doc).</p> <p>Lesson 4 - Questions.<br /> This lesson teaches children what questions are and what they must include (following Yr 2 curriculum).
