<p>In this exciting, hands-on series, KS2 children will explore the fascinating world of pulleys, learning how these simple machines made Tudor drawbridges functional and fortified castles impenetrable! Through practical activities and children will discover the mechanics behind pulleys, understanding how these mechanisms allowed Tudor engineers to raise and lower massive drawbridges with ease.</p> <p>By designing and constructing their own mini drawbridges, children will apply the concept of pulleys. Each lesson builds on scientific principles and teamwork, allowing students to test, modify, and improve their designs, all while imagining life in a Tudor castle!</p>

<p>This is a series of lessons that teaches children how to create a painting of a Engine House in the style of Monet. They will learn the skill in creating tints, tones and shades of colour. A recap on the colour wheel- primary, secondary and tertiary colours. It also gets the children to practise different techniques that can be used when creating a painting i.e. brush strokes, sponging and scruffito.</p>

Looking a how different artists have created their ideas and what techniques they have used. It also includes how to draw 3D buildings, cut outs for children to experiment with pencil shades, mark making worksheet and isometric paper.</p>

<p>This is a series of lessons that looks specifically at pulleys. There are 5 lessons in total. Each lesson will have a notebook presentation to share with the class. Alongside this there will be teacher notes to follow. These lessons were made to fit a topic that we covered on natural disasters. I linked the DT on a problem the children had to solve, which was the design, build and evaluate a mechanism that will pull water from a well.</p>
