Ready to teach resource for years 6-8 (KS3), that explores the professional work of Mathew Bourne and his contemporary ballet ‘The Nutcracker’. Over the course of a term, students learn the choreographic method of ‘Chance Dance’ and use this to create their own choreography. SOW includes cross curricular links to English and History, using Dickensian themes and the Victorian period as a stimulus for movement. SOW builds to a Final Performance which can be used as a summative assessment, and includes a free worksheet resource for student self assessment and pupil feedback.

Students will use the topic of ‘Emotions’, with popular characters from Inside Out, to develop Action content over the period of six weeks, as well as learning coping strategies to regulate emotions to support individual development.
