3 Separate Writing Skills Sheets for YR7, YR8, and YR9 I have created these writing skills sheets that focus on helping students develop the following skills: Sentence starters with I, WE, YOU task (YR7 and YR8) Description (YR7, YR8, and YR9) Explanation (YR7, YR8, and YR9) Evaluation (YR9) Each sheet has a box targeting each issue which includes: An explanation of how to do it Structure ideas (PEEL) Sentence starters A model example Sick of giving KS3 students the same sentence starters over and over again? Sick of explaining millions of times what a PEEL paragraph is? Get your KS3 students to stick these in at the front of their books! There is a different sheet for each KS3 year group reflecting a gradual increase in writing skills. I created these whilst working at a United Learning school in a disadvantaged area where students really struggled with extended writing, but were also really afraid to put their hands up and ask for help. This helped them to help themselves and meant I didn’t have to repeatedly explain structures/sentence starters to students who were too quick to ask for help without trying to work things out for themselves first. Also, the examples come from the UL Ethics curriculum so if you use this it will be directly relevant to the structure/keywords you will be uisng.

2 mark-scheme focused resources to speed up OCR A-Level RS essay marking! 1 x mark-scheme focused feedback sheet 1 x coded comments sheet Marking A-Level RS 40 mark essays is a long process. I created these resources this year to speed up the process and they have now been adopted by my whole department. Feedback sheet Areas for AO1 and AO2 marks Mark-scheme boxes where teachers can highlight areas achieved by the student. This helps to focus students on the mark-scheme and interact with what they are being graded on. Teachers can quickly give feedback through marking achieved areas and leaving others unmarked. Room for your grade boundaries Comments sheet List of regularly occuring misconceptions/targets/EBIs that are lettered List of WWWs/praise points that are numbered Teachers can easily label student essays with pre-written comments to save them writing out the same targets over and over again

This RE unit of work considers the following ethical topics through popular films. Racism - ‘Hidden Figures’ - with link to the Parable of the Good Samaritan (resource included) Sexism - ‘Brave’ - with link to women in the Bible (information resource and table provided) Afterlife - ‘The Lion KIng’ - with link to different religious beliefs on the afterlife (information resource provided covering Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism) Utilitarianism - ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ - with link to Afghanistan war (you could easily alter this to look at other conflicts studied in a History syllabus) Personhood - ‘Wall-E’ - with link to animal rights and class discussion questions provided. Each lesson includes descriptions of which clips from the relevant films to use, which can all be found on YouTube and are linked, questions for class/paired discussions, instructions for written tasks with prompts, and applications to real-world ethical topics with resources provided where needed. Powerpoints are visually appealing and have pictures to help with dual coding. I use this as an end of year enquiry unit with year 9, but could easily be used with year 7 or 8. Great resources for encouraging inquisitive learning and developing students’ understanding of the relevance of RE.

Three different resources to help kickstart a Tutor display board that will create a sense of community within your tutor group and ensure all students are held to high standards. This also includes an activity that students can complete in your first tutor session with them, or even on a year 7 induction day. You will receive: 1 x Tutor contract poster of five tutor values with space for students to sign 1 x set of praise display boxes for students/teachers to record areas of praise throughout the year where values of the tutor contract are demonstrated. 1 x Birthday poster 4 x “About Me” mini display sheets for students I used these resources with my year 9 tutor group this 2022-23 and they loved them! Students always looked forward to seeing who’s birthday it was (I gave them each cards on their birthday), particularly as multiple students informed me that they never recieved much for their birthday and didn’t really get to celebrate it. Students also enjoyed being able to display something of themselves on the walls. For me as the tutor, the set of values gave me a foundation when I had to address negative behaviour during the year. I’ve designed it to be bright and colourful to add a boost to any classroom. Enjoy using it and adapt to fit your tutor groups!
